Teacher Student Relationship: Double Standard?

Do you think there's a double standard when it comes to student/teacher relationships be it male or female?

I've come across countless of these incidents where a teacher had gotten caught doing things with their students. I've noticed that when a female teacher does it, she's almost praised and there's comments like "I wish I had a teacher like that when I was in school" but if a male teacher is caught, it's a completely different story. So my question is, do you think there's a double standard involved? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.
