Please tell me the purpose of spending money on a pack n play?!

Idk if it’s just me and I just don’t understand pack n plays. But I just don’t get the purpose of them when people use them beside their beds to have the babies in them when they are newborn. Maybe because the pack n play is smaller and people don’t have a big enough room? I just don’t understand why the need to have to buy another item for your baby to sleep in when you could just set up the crib by your bed and save money? Am I just not thinking this through? 🤨🤔I’m sorry if I offended anyone I’m just really trying to figure out what I want my babies to sleep in next to my bed and I do have enough room to set up a crib.
