Make sure to eat beforehand and bring a drink with you! You can also bring headphone if you want. As for the pain, it feels like a cat is scratching you over sunburn.. so obviously it isn’t pleasant feeling, but to me it’s not painful and just remember to stay calm ☺️. (And I have big tattoos in “painful” spots”)

Definitely eat a good meal beforehand and bring a sugary drink with you. Make sure you're wearing something that makes the area easily accessible. The other commenter was right, people describe it feeling like cat scratches or bee stings but it will be fast so don't stress the pain. Bring something to distract you like headphones, your phone, a book or a friend (not a group). Good luck!

I just got my first tattoo today and it’s really not that bad. It’s uncomfortable and it was honestly annoying. I was freaking out but I had a very good friend with me and I had my headphones in and about 30 seconds into the tattooing, I was totally calm because it wasn’t nearly as painful as I thought I literally was like “Wait you’re done?” at the end 😂

It’s not a horrible pain, it’s more uncomfortable than anything. I’m not sure about the pain level on the ankle bc mine are on my arms(forearm, upper inner arm) when actually getting the tattoo focus on your breathing and if you have someone to talk to it helps distract you

That should take 15 minutes, and if it’s right in the bone it’ll hurt a bit more. Basically the first couple minutes feels weird like an intense cat scratch, and you get used to it quite fast.
