We were in a car accident today a lady ran a red light and took off crappy day for sure. my question is how long is the whole insurance process take? we have full coverage our deductable is 1,500 this is my first time ever having to deal with this so I don't know what to expect or my options if any other then pay the deductible.

I work as a claims adjuster for a major insurance company... a lawyer will not help you in the case of your deductible, that’s there regardless of liability if you’re filing through your own insurance company. 
At this point you have 2 options for your vehicle repairs... you can file with your own company, which will be faster. You’ll have to pay your deductible but can start repairs/the total loss process right away. If you have rental on your policy then you are entitled to one for the reasonable repair time of your vehicle. Your insurance company will handle subrogation (the recovery of $$ that they have paid out on your vehicle-including your deductible), there is just no time frame or guarantee of the recovery. 
You can also choose to file with the at fault parties insurance. In that case, they will pay for your repairs in full with no deductible, and also cover rental costs, if they have accepted liability for the loss. You’ll have to deal with them directly if you choose this option. This takes longer as they have to have completed their investigation, finding their insured at fault. 
I’m glad everyone is ok, and hopefully this explains things a little bit. Laws do vary from state to state, but this explanation is generally true across all of the states.

Make a police report if you haven't yet, and file a claim with your insurance company. Schedule an inspection to determine if the car will be repaired or totaled. Talk to your insurance company about getting a rental Cal while your car is being repaired or you shop for a new one. If you experience any pain in the next week, get it checked out by a doctor. It can take up to a year for everything to get fully processed.

I wouldn't be paying for anything if it wasn't my fault. get a lawyer. you don't buy unless you win a case and they take a percentage. you need to seek medical care. Make an appointment with your primary. do not settle without making sure you are physically 100% again. I had a similar experience. get a lawyer.
