Looking to cut down on our budget as much as possible for baby coming on May 11. Advice?

Aldi is amazing. And I do know that Kroger is hella expensive.

I’m not a fan of the “cheap” grocery stores. I don’t trust their products. Trader Joe’s is cheap and they have quality items (and less chemicals). It depends on what you like to buy, but we just spend $45 on a decent amount of stuff. A lot of freezer type things, but’s what’s easiest for us. Typically I spend about $100 at the regular grocery store and still don’t get everything I need. So Trader Joe’s is our cheapest and best option when we can get there.

Don't know what half of that is. But my advice is to follow sales. Coupon clip, download the stores app. They'll have coupons and sales specifically for people who do. Costco can be expensive if you shop for things that don't make sense. I always buy toilet paper, garbage bags, and my chicken there. Occasionally I'll buy cheese, and other things. Only if it makes sense financially.

We shop at Costco all the time. Especially for food, diapers, wipes, toilet paper, etc. and the gas their is cheaper too. & You get a gift certificate back each year based on how much you’ve spent that you can use there on anything.

I’m not a fan of Aldi, but just my preference. In my experience all of the places you listed will have some great deals, while other things will be overpriced. To maximize your savings you will need to shop multiple places, and figure out where is the cheapest for different items.

We do a Costco run about once a month (twice if we need a couple of small things) and then fill in the gaps at a regular grocery store. I get all of our produce at Costco, and I get most of our meat there. It sucks to drop the money at checkout, but I haven’t purchased garbage bags in an entire year, and I haven’t purchased dryer sheets in more than a year. Some things in bulks are just totally worth it and save so much in the long run.

Honestly yes. We typically spend $60-$80 a week at Aldi for my husband and myself. At Wal-Mart we spend well over $100.
