Do you think children of undocumented immigrants be eligible for government benefits?

So what’s your opinion on this.. I’m going to give you an example. A friend of mine is undocumented. She works and gets paid cash and obviously doesn’t report it. Her fiancé lives here too but most of his income comes from his home country so he doesn’t report much here. They have a pretty nice house and drive a luxurious car. So my friend got pregnant and applied for Medicaid. She was accepted because the baby is american and she “doesn’t make enough money”. She obviously does make money but since she’s illegal she just doesn’t report it. So even though she has never paid taxes in the US, all of her prenatal care was free, as well as labor and delivery, hospital stay and even formula for her baby. So she goes into the grocery store, buys what she needs with the card she gets every month, then drives away in her porsche.

Meanwhile, I report my income correctly and pay my taxes. But I make too much money to be eligible for benefits (although my friend and her fiance make more than my husband and I), so I have to pay for my insurance monthly premium, plus all the costs of prenatal and everything else that won’t be covered by my insurance (deductible and coinsurance). Do you think that’s fair? Is it ok that people that don’t pay taxes get to use a benefit that tax payers don’t?

PS: I’m only using my friend as an example of illegal immigrants in general, I’m not actually upset that she gets all this and I’m happy for her, I just don’t see how that’s fair to american tax payers.
