should there be a limit on how much charity CEOs can earn?

I recently go into a debate with a lady collecting funds for charity, I politely declined to put money into the bucket, she asked why and I explained 1) I don't have spare money atm and 2) I don't support the charity due to the ridiculous salary the CEO collects. the average wage of a CEO in the UK is £167,000 with some of the lead charity CEOs raking in over £200,000 per year. she claimed that if they weren't highly paid they'd go elsewhere. my argument is if someone works/volunteers for a charity shouldn't they believe in the good they're doing instead of the fiscal amount if it's a liveable wage. so should there be a cap on the amount charity CEOs are paid with the rest going into the charity?
