Early ultrasound

I just set up my first appointment for an ultrasound for April 30th. I will be 6 weeks 4 days. What can I expect to see? Any of you ladies had an ultrasound around that time in your pregnancy and what were your experiences? And if I have the option should I go with a Transvaginal US? I heard that it picks up more detail and you can see the baby clearer. Thanks in advance ladies :)

On Monday I was 6 weeks 5 days. Couldn't see much from the abdomen. But transvaginal was fantastic. Saw baby. And the heart beating. 148 BPM

I just set mine up as well for this Friday, I'll be 6 weeks 2 days. you should be able to see a blob (the baby) and a heartbeat unless you happen to be earlier on than you originally thought.

Does this look normal?!
