Surprise twins?

I went in for my 20-week anatomy scan and was dumbfounded to find a second baby! I am currently 18w+ 5d and we have identical twins in the same sac. Has anyone else experienced this where halfway they didn't even know they were expecting doubles???

This happened to us as well. We went in for our 19 week ultrasound and found out we are having identical mo/di girls. I am currently 31 weeks and we are having a C Section in 3 weeks 🙂 Good luck momma!!!

Us! I knew it was a possibility because fraternal twins are in my family. But as time went on the idea of “what if there’s two” kinda faded. My first appt. wasn’t till 16 weeks because my midwife was on a month long vacation. My fundal height at 16 weeks was 20-21 and therefore about that many weeks ahead. She felt and felt my stomach. Asked about twins in the family and then didn’t say anything more. I didn’t think about it much. The next appt. at 20 weeks I was measuring 28 weeks. And that’s when she was fairly sure she found two heartbeats. Got an ultrasound appt. and confirmed we were having twins at 21 weeks. Both boys! Thinking back I could fully feel my uterus and cup my hands around it and half push it side to side after 10 weeks and all the info was saying it was just barely above my pubic bone... that should have clued me in. They are now almost 10 months old! 😍 they are the best. There’s nothing like watching two babies figure out life together, discover the other, and teach each other things! 😍 So much sweetness and fun.

This ALMOST happened to me! We went in for our first appointment and they didn’t have us schedule for a dating scan. I insisted since they didn’t want to do a scan until 18 weeks and had to wait almost two hours for the dr to be available. We generally would’ve had a dating scan that day but our dr was covering another drs patients because she had to have an emergency appendectomy that day. When we found out there were two our dr said she was so glad we waited!
