Baby Meal Plan...

Patricia

What does a typical day of meals for your baby look like?

DH and I aren't the healthiest eaters so, though we try, I feel like maybe DD doesn't have the healthiest diet either and it makes me feel like a bad mom. Lol.Here's some samples of what she gets on a daily basis... of course, cut into bite sized chunks.

Breakfast: Frozen waffles with just a smidge of syrup, ham and cheese omelette, scrambled eggs with sausage pieces, a banana and cheerios with maybe a cereal bar or two, pancake-battered banana slices, blueberry pancakes, french toast, pancake-battered sausages, flavored quick-prep oatmeal... all with a cup of whole milk.

Lunch or Dinner: Hot dog chunks with skin removed, hamburger or cheseburger with one bun removed (sometimes homemade, sometimes from a restaurant or fast food place), grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup, peanut butter/jelly sandwich, SpaghettiOs or pasta, cheesy rollup/taco, chicken nuggets or patty cut into slices... or if we happen to cook a balanced meal (which we are trying to do more often but is still less often than we would like), she will get a meat choice like chicken, pork, or beef plus a vegetable and a starch like noodles or potatoes. Usually with water or very watered down juice... she will get a small apple juice box on rare occasions if we go out.

If we eat something super unhealthy like pizza, we try to give her a gerbers microwave meal and then she gets a few pieces of whatever we have like a breadstick, a few fries, or a crust just because she wont eat at all if she thinks we have something better.

Snacks throughout the day (this kid eats like a teenage boy): goldfish crackers, cheeze its, teddy grahams, animal crackers, yogurt, danimals smoothies, cereal bars, cheerios, those protein packs with the sliced cheese and meats in them, string cheese pieces, vanilla wafers, fruits (bananas, blueberries, apple slices, and strawberries are her favorites). Of course if we are eating something delicious she gets a few bites so maybe a few little pieces of cookie or a bite of cake or ice cream on occasion. She also drinks water, milk, or watered down juice throughout the day (though I have a feeling the grandparents dont water it down nearly as much as I do).

Any ideas on how I can incorporate more veggies? What kind of veggies can she eat raw? And do you think she is eating well enoufh? What are some of your favorite things to feed baby?
