period?

Question

I gave birth almost 6 weeks ago and am breastfeeding. Is it normal for my period to be back already? My bleeding stopped a few weeks ago and I've just been having a little bit of brown spotting since, but yesterday I started spotting red and now it's picked up considerably today. 
I thought breastfeeding was supposed to delay your period? Has anyone else had this happen? I can't be hemmoraging this long after giving birth can I?

Its uncommon but very possible. I would keep an eye on it though - it could be a sign of something more serious rather than a period, or that you’re overdoing it - are you still taking it easy? I would keep my midwife informed just in case 👍🏻

mine started at 7 weeks..i didnt get lucky either but its ok it was nice while it lasted lol

My period came back 6 wks pp. it’s a good possibility. And I ebf. Not everyone is lucky enough for the period to stay away.
