Rules For When I Have My Baby? Too Strict?

We request you have the following vaccines before you are around our newborn:
MMR
Influenza Vaccine 
TDAP OR DTAP
Varicella 
Please be honest if you have been sick or have had any symptoms within the last 48 hours. If you have had a fever we request you are fever free for at least 72 hours before you come visit. Please remember his immune system is little and he can’t fight of infections like we can. 
Absolutely no kissing him. Yes his little face is so sweet but we would prefer no kissing what so ever. 
Please wash your hands with soap and water before you hold him. 
Feel free to take as many photos as you wish but please make sure to ask us for our blessing before posting them on social media for the world to see.

We asked our families to do something smiliar- and it’s totally up to you, but I feel like you could say it in a way that’s a little more chipper so no one gets butt hurt. (That’s again your choice though!) this is what we posted last week! 
“Family and friends! As baby time approaches are are so excited for y’all to meet our little man! As our family expands, we want to make sure he is as healthy and happy as possible. That being said we ask that you please consider the following;
- please no visits if you are sick or are getting over being sick. We are already worn out and tired and we don’t want baby sick! 
-we ask that you are current on your whooping cough (pertussis) vaccine if you haven’t had it in the last ten years. 
-upon visiting hand sanitizer will be provided for you! 
- we want to keep our little guy healthy but we also want to keep him safe. We are currently uncomfortable with his picture being posted without our permission. Please let us know if you’d like to post a picture before you do so so that we can decide and we can monitor where our babies face is being shown. 
We are so excited to be new parents, and while some of these requests seem extreme, we only want the best for our little guy and hope for your continued support and understanding! Thank you! “
I’d say just lighten it up a bit. Everyone is excited for baby and shouldn’t feel intimidated to visit, but also need to respect your boundaries. Best wishes!

I never wrote out requirements like that and people had enough sense to follow those general rules anyway. But if it makes you feel better to say it, go for it!

can I ask why the picture thing matters?

Where I live, there is an outbreak of pertussis. I will be requiring it of those who visit my child. Some may think that’s excessive, but if you want to see my child you had better have had a Tdap in the past 10 years. I don’t think that’s too much to ask of family and friends.

Not too strict at all. We have a different request about vaccines (do not get any shots for 2 months prior to visiting), we don't allow any photos to be posted on social media at all, and washing hands is more of a request to follow normal good hygiene rules (wash after the bathroom, cooking, cleaning, etc.).

I agree with everything you said. I didn’t allow people who were not vaccinated around my child and still don’t due to the fact he has an immune disorder.

I agree 100% with it. My mom will be coming out to take care of our toddler and then a month later my inlaws plan to come visit. I don’t care when they had tdap last, I will be requiring them to have had a booster for it in the last 6 months before baby is born to protect against pertussis

Sorry I think it's ridiculous to expect everyone to get a full set of boosters on a list of vaccines just to come say hi to you. People who will handle the baby frequently like your parents, fine, but to just stop by your house is a bit much. 
I personally didn't make any sort of list, most people know proper etiquette like no baby kissing, if someone were to have slipped up I'd just say something (never happened though). When people came over I just asked them to wash hands. Obviously if someone is sick they shouldn't come over, if they're that ignorant would come over sick then they're probably going to ignore your rules list anyway.
