Moving out of state?!

Question

Does anyone have advice for moving out of state? I’m seriously thinking of moving out of state (FL > MD) and I just want to make sure I consider everything but I’m not even sure where to start! I know I’d be moving in with family and I obviously would need to find a new lab tech job,  but otherwise what should I be considering? I’m so nervous but super excited for this change.

I just left Maryland. Prepare for weather/climate change , price changes, people personality changes, wage changes . Everything is more expensive , colder and people are ruder in the northeast .

I’m moving from PA to MD but my family is from the area in MD that I’m moving too so I’m kinda familiar with it, I’ve just never lived there as an adult. We’re getting new jobs and we’re looking at places to live. With new jobs comes new insurance and finding new doctors. Daycare is another big thing for us. And preparing for a change in our routine, like I know what grocery stores in PA to go to for particular stuff and now I’ll have to figure that out, and I know what my movie theater is like and how the traffic is every day and all that silly day-to-day stuff. My SO will have to get used to the less aggressive driving in MD and the weather, it gets obnoxiously humid and more thunderstorms than we get in PA. I expect it will be very stressful at the beginning because of all the change but I’m looking forward to being closer to my family again.

I’m about to move from NY to PA, the hardest thing about moving is typically not knowing anyone, since you’ll be living with family you don’t have to worry about that or finding housing so that’s good. Other than that the biggest change will be culture and just surroundings... so I guess look around the areas and see what they have and what they dont have that you are used to (for example maybe MD doesn’t have your favorite department store)... I think you’ll be able to figure out life there especially if you have family helping you... other than that some changes you might need to make is just like switching banks if they don’t have your bank and small things like that
