I think it reaaaaaaaaaally depends. my boyfriend still talks to one of his ex gf occasionally, not flirting or anything and he doesn't spend time with her. they've been broken up for over two years and we've been dating for 6 months. I trust him wholeheartedly and conversely, he trusts me. I have a lot of male friends that I spend time with gaming, and otherwise. I also occasionally see and talk to my ex, as all of our friends are mutual and it's inevitable. my feelings for my exes are gone and I trust that my bf is the same way.

My SO ex is a fuckin psycho so hell no. Few years ago she texted him and told him that his dog died (she kicked him out, kept ALL his stuff including dogs). He blew her phone up trying to figure out what happened, she didn't answer. like 6 months later she texted about something else, the dog came up and she was like I never told her that she died, what are you talking about ? I knew the dog didn't die to begin with but still, she needs help.
