I didn’t realize

Just letting people know the first steps of having your mans semen tested is this (at least this is our story so far):

1) Husband took an at home semen analysis. No result which is a negative thing.

2) Called a Urologist because they’ll need to do a professional analysis. It took planning a month out to schedule an appointment due to his limited time off.

3)They looked at his groin and all the goods. They told him to cum in a cup and drop it off across the street. There was no room to do it in so it was up to him to figure out how to “do it” and get to the office in 30mins. We live 40 mins away so it’s kinda obvious where he had to do it. That was annoying.

4) It took 2 days to get the results and we got a call. They said the count was low but wouldn’t give us anymore information other than that. Said to get a blood test to check his hormones.

5) Husband gets a blood test, they call him a couple days later and say all his levels are good and still won’t give him/us the official results of the semen analysis until the doctor sits down with us after getting his prostate looked at.

6) Husband is told he needs to get an ultrasound of his prostate and THAN the doctor will go over the results of the semen analysis. Husband may need a biopsy of his prostate...

I figured this might help somebody else who has no idea what’s going to happen or needs to happen after a negative at home semen analysis test.

We’re only 8 months in off ttc. Husband only agreed to an at home test because his parents had a hard time conceiving him. His mom was tested and everything was good. His dad never tested and were almost 100%, his dad was the issue now. I wish we would of started earlier in our marriage to have kids... we would of figured this stuff out earlier!
