So we announced our pregnancy to both sides tonight

My fiancé told his father while I slept in the car. He cried tears of joy bc his father congratulated him rather than lecturing him lol. Then we went to his grandpas birthday party and told his mom and sister. His sister happy danced for a good 5min. His mom cried happy tears, hugged me and told her son to continue taking good care of us.

Then here comes my family. My mom said it’s unfair to my 4 year old bc he doesn’t get to continue being a baby (he’s not even a baby) and that she’s taking him from me so that she can love him and show him all the attention. My aunt just said “wow ima need a few beers to process this. I’m not watching that baby for you either” and then something about how I’ve gotten fat. my fiancé’s feelings were hurt but I honestly expected it lol. The month before baby is born our lease will be up so we will be moving closer to his side of the family so that his mom can baby sit while we work. And we won’t have to hear rude comments all of the time
