Is it possible and/or "normal" to have any kind of cramping in the 2 or 3 days leading up to ovulation?

Hello. Well, you’re asking a lot of specific questions to something not even doctors understand quite well. 😝
Pinpointing ovulation is a tricky business, and most women don’t even feel / realized when they actually ovulate. If you have any cramping or twinge at all, you’re in the absolute minority. 
I have 3 OBGYN in my family, so trust me on this one :-)
I usually feel like a salmon swimming up the river, I get extremely tender on both my sides, it does feel like I have real chicken eggs inside! I have menstrual-like cramping two days before and then twinges on both ovaries, alternating one side and the other, as ovulation approaches. 
I’m sending you a rare photo taken in the exact moment the follicle expelled a human egg. 
It’s pretty amazing actually. 
Please note that the yellow jelly round thing you see is not the actual egg, this yellow party is a gooey substance that nurture the egg until it gets released: the approximate size of a human egg is the same size of this dot————->      .

Now you know why feeling the moment of ovulation is so tricky. No one can really tell for sure when they ovulate, pains and twinges can only indicate an impending ovulation.

Those of you that voted Yes, would any of you mind sharing your recent experiences with cramping in the few days leading up to ovulation?
Do you know how soon after all the cramping that you actually ovulated? Did you have ovulation pain? If so, was it less than, equal to, or more than the cramping pain that led up to it?
