We just had our second loss A week ago and found out at our 9 week ultrasound baby stopped growing at 6 w 4 days. Then we had another loss before that in December baby stopped growing at 8 w 4 days. I’ll be 39 in less than two months . Aside from the devastation of two miscarriages , I went to a fertility specialist yesterday to try to figure out what if anything is causing me to miscarry in first trimester. My doc did a thyroid test which was good since I started taking the medicine , and also tested HCG to make sure it’s dropping and I have to keep going back every week. They also told me to get an HSG test , FSH, Estradiol, prolactin, antimullerian hormone. I didn’t realize I can’t do any of these tests until after TWO period cycles! Last time I got my cycle back after 28 days and I hope I’m that lucky this time. Even if I do if I have to wait two cycles looks like we can’t even start trying again until at least July. It sounds like my specialist was leaving it up to me he was giving me options. He said based on my age he thinks it’s likely genetic ... waiting for chromosomal testing to come back to see what that shows and holefully get more precise of the puzzle. It just kills me we can’t do anything about this and move forward until TWO cycles . Does this seem right??? I originally thought once I get cycle back hopefully next month they can do the hsg and other tests. I feel like Time is ticking away here and I’m more depressed than I’ve ever been in my life. I’m almost 39. I wanted to have my first baby before 40 at least . Don’t know if that’s gonna happen at this point. If anyone can recommend anything or tell me if this seems right? Our other option is scrap he specialist and just try again like we did last time when we got pregnant two months after D&C; and god forbid miscarry again... but then these tests might not show anything either so either way I feel fucked.
