Second trimester snotty discharge

I'm almost 22 weeks and I've noticed that the day after my husband and I have sex (currently about 1x per week) I have a big thick glob of snotty discharge the next day. (Sorry for the gross description.) It always scares me because my immediately reaction is that it's my mucus plug. It's usually 2-4 cm long, clear or milky colored, and very thick and stretchy if you try to pull it apart. My typical day to day discharge is usually clear, sometimes milky, and relatively thin, so when I see this long glob on the toilet paper I freak out. Is this normal? Should I not let me husband cum inside of me to eliminate this? I hate all this worrying. :(
