Wow! My mom’s name was Susie too and she passed away 2 years ago. I just had my daughter this month and named her after my mother. I know she would be proud and honored. I say go for it if YOU are okay with it. Some of my family were/are against it and couldn’t handle it but it was my choice and some are coming around.

My father passed away last year.. I wanted to honor him by using his name but not a huge fan of the name Frank.. neither was my fiancé.. we decided to do Nicholas Frank.. Nick is my fiancé’s name and I still get to honor my father by using his name as the middle name 💙

why not make it a middle name and choose something differnt for the first name that way your satified with using it but still have a name you love as the first you get me.

In my family I was given my first and middle name based off 2 people that were important to both of my grandmothers. So it’s like honoring them through people that they also loved. I don’t have either of my grandmother’s names but my parents chose it off women in my family that my grandmothers admired. I think that gives you some more options.
