When can I introduce a bottle?

I'm currently breastfeeding my 6 day old son, and man does he eat. I was wondering when I can introduce a bottle so that dad can help out too? Thanks everyone

We introduced a bottle right away. 15 months old and still nursing here 😊
The correct answer is to wait 4-6 weeks however I see waaaaay too many women on here posting that they followed this recommendation and now their EBF baby won’t take a bottle at all! 
You do it when you feel ready. My advice is don’t wait too long. And when you do, always pace feed to protect your breastfeeding relationship 😊

Doctors told me if possible to not start with a bottle I till breast feeding for at least 2 weeks. Babies can already struggle with matching in the beginning as it is so you dont want them to get nipple confusion.

I introduced a bottle (as well as a pacifier) to both my daughters at 3 days old and both breast fed fine. Nipple confusion is a lot less common than most think. My girls had no issues switching between the breast and bottle. If you wait to introduce too long they might not take the bottle at all.

I waited until babe was 2 weeks and then I introduced the bottle for 1 feeding every day. His feeding right before bed is always his 1 bottle that way I know exactly how much he is eating. He has never had an issue with nipple confusion and takes a bottle with no issues from anyone else. Although, he rarely ever takes a paci. He is almost 6 months now.

I started doing both the second day after she was born and used soothers and we never had any problems . Some babies can get confused so it’s best to wait 2 weeks or until breastfeeding is well established because sometimes they prefer the bottle because it’s easier it kind of just drips into their mouth they don’t have to work as hard for it .

I waited 4weeks. you want to make sure baby is breastfeeding well before starting a bottle. not because of nipple confusion, but because the bottle is way easier to drink from. if they get used to the bottle, they may not like the breast. 
also, have someone else give the bottle if possible. that way they know mama gives the breast, someone else gives the bottle
