a man followed me home

any advice for me to ease my nerves?

This crazy guy followed me down my street to my house. The whole time he kept screaming at me “hello, how are you”, and I’m 17 and alone so I do what I was taught and I walk faster. He followed me, while I was literally speed walking about two feet maybe behind me. I got to my door and I didn’t want to put in the combo(code lock) because he was so close he could see it or even barge in. So I stood at the top of my stairs while he came up them too. I was obviously scared, but he wasn’t being threatening so i was trying to be nice and subtle about him leaving. Mainly because like if I told him to get lost and he got mad, that wouldn’t be good for me. He grabbed and shook my hand and was like how old are you. I said my real age so he’d know I was a minor and hopefully back off more. He didn’t, instead he was now saying I was rude for ignoring him and that he knew my dad was a roofer and my dad gave him smokes once. He didn’t leave for five minutes I was stuck there till someone came up to us and told the man me and her had to go somewhere. He still stayed for another five minutes before finally leaving.

I didn’t call the police because he didn’t seem violent, but it’s been a few days and I’m still freaked out.

Seriously though thankfully that girl came up to us when she did because I don’t know what would have happened.
