child abuse

This subject might be a little tough and i understand that but as someone who has witnessed child abuse i need to know what i can do. yesterday i witnessed child abuse to the point where the child had to be carried out of the house and i thought he was dead. i immediately called the police and i was told someone would be there in not even 5 min as there was an car on patrolling our area i begged them to hurry up. I could hear thei kids screaming and so could the lady on the line. fuve minutes went by and no police and still after 2hrs not one single cop car showed up its been almost 24hr since it happned and i have called the police multiple times they just say yeah we sent someone out if they didnt make it there than im not sure. like what else am i ment to do when the police wont even help.
