Pacifiers?

Question

How many of you use pacifiers?  I read it can cause some problems / nipple confusion.  
I do not plan to EBF because I am having twins and want to tandem feed to keep them on the same schedule. So in public I plan to use bottles with breast milk (hoping for a good supply!). Mentioning b/c I think that may make a difference in whether or not pacifiers would really cause a problem.

My son never had an issue with nipple confusion. He started taking it at the hospital. We waited until 6 weeks to introduce the bottle and he wouldn’t take it for 6 weeks until I was back t work 2 days. He loved the breast and liked the pacifier. All this to say kids are different. My daughter will rarely take the pacifier, but at almost 5 weeks took a bottle like a champ.

We’ve used a paci since baby boy was a day old. He is mostly breastfed but took a breastmilk bottle at two weeks and has zero issues.

Used a pacifier from day one with both my babies and they never had an issue going back to breast or bottle.

It’s recommended to avoid using a paci or bottle until about 4 weeks old so breastfeeding is well established to help avoid nipple confusion. 
Not all babies will have the confusion or a hard time going back and forth between breast and bottle but some will.

I've used bottles and pacifiers since my baby was 2 days old. he hasn't had any problem with nipple confusion. he will only use the MAM nipples and paci though.

My son has never had confusion. They gave him one in the NICU, I didn’t even know until i could finally go in there & see him. They’re pretty smart, they know where to get food from & where they can’t. When I was breastfeeding I introduced a bottle I think just before 4 weeks or around that time & he never had an issue going between. The only reason i waited so long was people kept grilling into my head about nipple confusion too & im super paranoid & wanted to make sure I had my milk well established too so if I wanted to pump into a bottle it was super easy

I would say use it right away. The lactation nurse at the hospital told me to wait until BF’ing was well established... well waited too long and now my son absolutely refuses it and only wants the boob to calm him haha
He also takes the bottle like a champ, really no confusion for him

All 3 of my kids left the hospital with a pacifier and none of them had nipple confusion. Pacifiers also help reduce the possibility of SIDS

My daughter got a pacifier in the hospital from the nurses. She had jaundice and had to be under the bill-lights so a paci was her only source of comfort. 
She had a pacifier from birth to 5 months. She weaned herself from it at 5 months. 
She’s 15 months old now and still nursing (never had formula).
