Pregnancy after Bariatric surgery??!!

Question

Any mommies out there currently pregnant after having bariatric surgery? I’m currently 5 months pregnant. I had Roux en y in June 2016, I have only gained 1-lb since becoming pregnant. My doctors wants me to gain more weight but my nutritionist wants me to focus more on getting in the right nutrients. Any advice for a bariatric mama.

Not yet! I can’t try for a little while longer. I had vsg in 2015 then this year converted to RNY. So I can’t try until the end of this year but I’m hoping it helps! I got the surgery to help me get pregnant!

Yes I am had gastric sleeve in June of 2016 got pregnant in October 2017 baby is perfectly fine healthy and big I eat a lot less than most women and have only gained 4-5 pounds I’m just about 8 months. My doctor never ever got on my case about when I got pregnant I was perfectly fine and lost 80 pounds before surgery. He never once said anything was going to be wrong and he was right!

I had mine done in 2013 and had my daughter in 2017. Go with your nutritionist and focus on getting the right nutrients. You should focus on eating right and getting enough of what yiu and the baby needs instead of how much weight you're gaining. Total I gained 20 lbs and dropped 40 lbs 2 months after my daughter was born. Good luck!!
