Bad tampon experience

So 3 years ago, I had gotten my period on vacation. Luckily, it was the last day. I wanted to go swimming, so my mom helped me put a tampon in (very first time anything was inside me) It was WAAAY too big for me (they were hers), and the entire time I could feel it no matter how I sat.

So after swimming, I wanted it out of me. I went to the bathroom to pull it out, but it HUUUUUURT. I went complaining to my mom, who just yanked it out of me. I screamed and she told me I was overreacting 😒 Stayed in the bathroom another 5 minuets crying because I felt so disgusting.

To this day, nothing has been inside of me. I tried having sex with my boyfriend last year, and we had to stop because I got scary flashback of the pain I experienced.
