Unpasteurized sauerkraut....safe?!

Is this safe to eat while pregnant?

I wouldn’t think so, when something is pasteurized it means it’s gone through a process where it is sterilized and made safe for consumption . So since it hasn’t, I wouldn’t eat it

My parents fermented some at home and I ate it , I asked my doctor he thought it was okay but I still get nervous and try to avoid it lol just sucks that that’s what I freaking crave
