how do you tell the person you love to be happy with someone else

I think I found the one. He makes me so happy. He understands me so well. There is never a full moment with us and when I talk to him I feel like such a teenager with a crush, my heart beats so fast. There's only one problem. He doesn't feel the same.

He told me he gets a "feeling" whenever he knows it will work out with someone, and he didn't get that feeling with me. He talks about how much he enjoys talking to me and how he loves our friendship and how good of a connection we have, and he wouldn't want to lose me. But he just doesn't feel it with me.

Right now he is being set up by his roommates to see some girl and he was talking about how nervous he is because he doesn't even know her.

And I can't be selfish and tell him not to see her or keep him from seeing anyone. So I'm sitting here texting him to be confident and optimistic, to have fun and go into it with an open mind.

My mouth is so dry and I feel so nauseous. I'm crying and I know I shouldn't be. I just want to know what to do. Or if anyone has ever been in my shoes.
