Finally got one!
Hey everyone I just want to share my excitement after fishing for sharks for a long time. We work along with D.N.R and N.O.A.A tagging sharks for research on the coast of South Carolina. I've been doing this for a year, and my boyfriend has been fishing his whole life, and last year we got into a tagging program. By the time we got our shark tags, the only shark we caught was already tagged and we kept forgetting to bring the tags out. (pictured below is a 9.5ft Male Lemon Shark, I was the photographer so guess who didn't get a photo with him :( me)

That is as big as the Lemons get down here. Crazy right? Anyways I'm getting ahead of myself. I am 28 weeks pregnant and still to this day lol I will hop on any shark.

I was recording that day, and never got a photo of me on the back of this shark, the guys were having trouble getting the hook out and I hopped on to hold her head still. This was a 7ft Female Sandbar shark. And yep, you guessed it. We forgot the tags. Haha oh well.

Last night and this morning were absolutely amazing. I got to the beach around 7pm and literally 5 mins later and the guys caught a fairly large Atlantic sharpnose, had a run that I'm sure was a tiger shark because of the bite and tooth mark left on the tuna skin remains. Then it happened! My man hooked up and he had only caught and released a 3ft Sand tiger shark. The ones you see in the aquariums with their scary crazy teeth! 9ft! We caught a beautiful fish who we Finally got to tag!

gotta love night time photos...i had the phone recording at a good sunset light angle but camera guy I handed it off too stepped aside. But hey! it was amazing!

Look how happy my man is! His first BIG Tagged Shark! and then this happened.

The girl in the pink Hat caught her first tiger shark as well as our teams first! we were so glad some beach goers came down and kindly took this photo for us! Below is my man getting things in order..

..We never named the tiger shark. But that's her on her big Kitty!

She's a brave trooper! Going back out later tonight. It's mama's nap time! Thanks for reading and enjoying my little journey! Lowcountry Sharkaholics signing out!
