I can’t stand the situation we’re in.

My bf doesn’t have a car and I have like a temporary car. Basically, my mom’s old car was meant to be mine but since my stepdad crashed the car that WAS mine, my mom basically let him have her old one since he needs to get to work & I just use it when he gets back. Anytime we go out or I invite him over, I have to pick him up and drop him off. It’s starting to get annoying because sometimes I don’t feel like hanging out or going out but he does & he’ll say he’s gonna get dropped off. That means I’d have to leave him. It’s so annoying. I also hate clingy guys. I’ve talked to him about it but he just jokes and calls himself chewing gum. I really like him and everything but this is becoming an issue and he has yet to get a car. He does give me gas money when the car is almost empty but that’s not my concern rn. What should I do? I feel like it’s starting to take a toll on me because I’m one who likes being picked up to go on a date. Not the other way around..

Update: it’s not a financial issue. He can buy a car if he wants to, he just doesn’t. & I’m not saying I want him to pay for me or always pick me up. It’d simply be nice to be picked up every once in a while rather than me having to drive all the time. I like balance.
