Convertible crib?

Question

Any mamas out there who can give me an honest opinion about whether buying a convertible crib is worth the investment?
Has anyone converted the crib to a toddler bed and beyond?
And if you have a convertible crib, did you have a bassinet for your newborn and then move the baby into the crib later on?

We bought a convertible crib at IKEA, all parts come with it. Little one has used it every night since the day we came home from the hospital. So far it has been worth $100.

If you do decide on a convertible crib- BUY THE CONVERTER KIT with it. I have sooooooooo many family members and friends who were going to buy the converter set later only to find that the one they needed was discontinued. So essentially they spent an extra couple hundred bucks on a crib for nothing since they didn’t have the converter kit. I bought both at the same time. We only bought the full size bet converter kit though, we thought the toddler bed was kinda silly since she wouldn’t be in it long anyways.

I have a convertible crib and I plan on buying the extra parts so my daughter can grow with the set. 
We also got a small pack and play. It’s a bassinet for as long as you need it, plus a changing table.  This will stay in our bedroom for the first month or so then we will move her to the crib. 
Once she outgrow the bassinet part it will be a small play pen for a while. 
I will also use it we travel anywhere in the first few moths or if she has to stay with the grandparents since it packs up pretty small.

We have a convertible crib. We bought the whole bedroom set so the dresser with the changing table that turns into a bookcase. The end tables, the armoire. We do plan to convert the bed and have the kit. Our son has slept in the crib since he was 8 weeks old. Honestly my husband and I took shifts holding him while he slept before that so a bassinet was never needed although we did have one. Ultimately it depends on how your family lives. We have bedroom sets in all our rooms. We aren’t co sleeping advocates, we have a certain style in our home. It made sense for us and so far has worked well. LO is only 15 months though. So maybe when he’s 6 I’ll have a different opinion. Who knows.

I have a convertible crib for my son and before that he slept in a cradle that's been in my mom's side of the family for generations. I converted the crib into a toddler bed when my son was big enough but now that I'm pregnant again he has his own separate toddler bed so the crib is available when the baby comes

We had a convertible crib for my first. Not worth it in my opinion. You have to buy parts for each stage you convert it to. Not sure if that's how they all are or just the kind we got. We tried converting it to a toddler bed and she wouldn't sleep in it. We eventually just bought a matress with a little metal frame and she loved it. We stuck pillows under the sheets on the sides so she wouldn't roll out and worked great for us.

She’s in the toddler bed now but doubt I’ll convert it to the day bed after as she’s destroyed the rails and like has worn out the sides.

We bought a convertible crib and the toddler rail and bed rails kept going in and out of stock then finally back in stock and I ordered it then Babies r us went out of business and canceled my order. So definitely not worth it, we bought a toddler bed for my son he’s almost two and loves his crib still but I’m pregnant so baby will just get this crib when they come and my son will use the toddler bed!
