Birth control changing texture of blood?

Hi! So I’ve been on Nexplanon for almost 3 months now, and it has caused a lot of changes. One in particular is that the consistency of my period blood, which in the past was usually dark red and liquidy, has changed to be VERY dark brown and pasty, very closely resembling poop (which it’s not, I promise!)? I’m not too concerned about the color because I know it’s probably from the oxidation, but the texture?? I drink plenty of water and my diet isn’t AWFUL (though it could be better), and it really hasn’t changed much since I started BC. Has anyone else experienced this? The picture below is blood that I literally scraped off my pad. Thank you!
