Was i misinformed?!

My husband and I have been ttc our second child for over a year with no luck. When we hit 1 year ttc I finally made an appointment to check everything. So I went through all the fertility testing and all my stuff came back great they weren’t concerned about me at all But when my husband got his testing done it came back abnormal. They pretty much said his sperm is to thick and that our only option would be an iui. We already have one child and we didn’t have any problems ttc her. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and if you did something naturally and ended up not needing an iui.
