My question: Is it ok to take off my childs helmet when we are on recreational paths once off the actual roads leading to. We went for our very first ride with our bike trailer today and as expected my son -1.5 yo on the 13th- did NOT like the helmet. The majority of the trip was he screaming and trying to take off his helmet. We have a lot of bike trails in our area going along two different rivers and a canal. So once we got onto the trails I took off his helmet but kept going back and forth, putting it back on, because I was nervous and worried I was being judged my other recreationists along the paths. What have you done or seen or think etc?
