How to make rice?

Help! I need to learn how to cook. My mom never bothered to teach me yet shames me for not knowing & calls me ungrateful for not having food cooked after she gets home from work.. like, excuse me but you never took time off your day when you weren’t working to even explain things to me. When I would ask what something was, you’d call me stupid.

1 cup rice + 2 cups water bring to a boil, cover, let simmer for 20mins

Buy a bag of white or brown rice. Get the bag not the box of "Minute rice". Take 4 cups of water and pour it in a pot then add 2 cups of rice. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to 3 or 4 and cover. Let cook until all water is evaporated and the rice has no more crunch when you bite but isn't mushy

First you take some and rinse it thoroughly in some warm water. Then you literally just boil it for about 20 minutes. Some people add salt, turmeric (depending on the dish) or other rice spices but I dont. Otherwise you can just put the rice on boil, and then rince it about halfway through cooking it. I was taught both methods.
