3 weeks after having a baby?

Would you let your boyfriend/husband go out after you just had a baby? I already know he’s gonna go out drinking at a friends house because he’ll always go when they get the chance but it’s like really? I just had a baby and on top of that I’m left alone every time because I have no family where I live currently. This happened even before I got pregnant also. It just sucks being alone..

I wouldn’t be okay with him going out. If anything you need to go out and do something that makes you happy.

Three weeks seems like more than enough time. I want my husband to go out and see his friends after baby’s born because I don’t want him feeling cooped up. I doubt knowing him though he’ll be out long—he’s already a little baby obsessed lol.

I don’t tell my SO what he can and can’t do, I let him know how I feel and he can make his own choice.

That’s up to you and your relationship, my husband and I returned to normal life pretty much a day after we got home. He went back to work our second day home and that weekend he went hunting and went out that evening. Yes your tired but you have to remember so is he and he deserves a night out as well, but I would also remind him to return the favor and watch the baby so you could go out once as well. Locking yourselves at home will just make you stir crazy, and with a newborn sometimes it’s easier for just one person to go out at a time.

a few hours after I gave birth, my husband left to play laser tag with my family. he wasn't drinking and stuff though and came back a few hours later. I'd be pretty upset since he'd be drinking and therefore unable to help care for your guys child. sometimes guys forget they helped make the baby and actually need to help care for them..

I think it totally depends on your relationship and how you personally feel. I don't tell my husband what he can & can't do or when he can & can't go out. It doesn't bother me if he goes out. When our 11 year old was born he went out sometime in the first week & I was 100% okay with that. I am guessing I will feel the same when this baby is born. But that's us- if you feel uncomfortable with it then you've gotta talk to him about it & let him know in a factual, non- nagging, non-emotional way how it is making you feel. You can't make him do anything but lay it out there and let him make his own decisions. Good luck!!

I really think it depends on the situation.  You said that he’s done this before... but it is unreal to expect anyone to hermit themselves away forever.  If you had the chance to get out of the house and see your girlfriends, would he be supportive of that?  Does he give you the chance to go out when you want to?  If so, then I think you should let him go out once in a while with his friends.  If it’s nightly or if you say something like, “I’d really appreciate it if you stayed home tonight,” and he still goes out.  Then I would put my foot down.
