Painful cramping/bleeding, now Nerves on Edge

M.

I’ve been on the roller coaster that is a new First pregnancy for the last week. We have our first prenatal scheduled for next Thursday and I’ve been so excited and nervous! I’m trying to go on with my usual life until we get the big confirmation beyond a few pee sticks. Glow thinks we’re about 5 1/2 weeks.

However yesterday all day I felt weird. In the morning I was jittery, and my stomach was more uncomfortable than usual - then a strange comfort came over me and I was relaxed the whole rest of my day. I met up with a friend for a walk, cooked dinner and then the usual extreme exhaustion set in around 8 pm. I had intense heartburn so I took a Tums before bed. I went to the bathroom as usual before turning in and a small brownish color discharge was on my tp. I tried not to worry and drift to sleep.

Around 3 am I woke up to pee again and this time there was a darker red on the tp. I started to panic, got myself some water to cool down and ended up falling on the floor, almost like a fainting spell. I was fine after that but when I laid back down I began to get the most intense lower abdomen cramps. These lasted for about 40 minutes - a few seconds of relaxation, then sharp pains for 50 seconds or so (I started timing it to help me cope). When they finally stopped I was able to sleep for a little.

This morning when I went to the bathroom a blob of blood fell out and I panicked. I immediately called my hospital hot line and they asked me a series of questions. In the end the nurse tried to reassure me that things could be fine, but suggested I schedule a visit with my dr ASAP. We’re going in a few minutes and I don’t know what to think. I feel so responsible, thinking something I did has caused harm to our unborn one.

Our baby may have been unexpected but we’d already started to plan the excitement and I’m scared of what this visit may tell us 😰 Please send good vibes our way - sorry for the length, but we haven’t told anyone yet and I just needed to vent it all out. ✨

UPDATE

Urine sample confirmed levels to a positive pregnancy and I had to get bloodwork done. I’m going back Monday for additional bloodwork and hopefully hGC levels will not have dropped 🤞🏼
