Anyone else's 9-10month old just crying when mama isn't sitting right next to them?

We have toys scattered all over the house. However my son cannot sit alone with his toys. I have my work desk 3 feet away from him, but when I try to sit and get some work done he starts screaming non- stop until i sit on the floor with him. is this just a stage until he can feel more independent? should I encourage him to play alone ( I'm always within view)

my second son started doing this recently.  EVERYTIME I put him down in his walker, play yard, or high chair and I  walk away briefly. He arches his back and screams.  I either have to distract him or sing to him lol even then he still wants me to pick him up. So difficult  because before I kid you not he was such a chill baby. Something different I guess.  Hoping it ends soon, maybe after his teething goes away. But goodluck to us all lol👏👏✊😣😣

From what I’ve read around 9 months old babies start developing separation anxiety towards their favorite people. Usually mom. So that sounds about right. My baby has started getting some but it’s not terrible. Just starts crying if I walk out of the room but then he stops after a few minutes and goes back to doing whatever. Read into it. I don’t remember what it said to do to help with it but I do remember that it’s just a phase and they should get better.

Hoping this passes soon! My 9 month old throws fits if he can’t see me.. even when his dad is holding him or watching him while I take a shower.. he just screams until he sees me again and I come pick him up. I’m a SAHM so it’s just him and I most the time. Sometimes he’ll play by himself with his toys while I sit and watch him and sometimes he just wants me to hold him 🤷🏻‍♀️

my baby boy has started this too, he will be 10 months on Thursday....and I am 5 weeks away from giving birth to our next little man. so I'm not sure how I am going to manage with both babies on my own at night and home alone during the day....but our 10 month old does this with me especially and starting to with Daddy. now when we wake up and daddy is already at work he is fine. but once he gets home from work, bitty does not want either of us out of his sight...

How do you work?

One of us has to be in the room with him playing or close so he thinks we are.  If my husband up he wants daddy if daddy is sleeping or at work is mommy.
