giving oral medication..

I've been having to give my daughter her medication orally through a syringe. she HATES it. shes 5 months and as soon as she sees it she will close her mouth and clench her jaw. she will not open it, and when I try to get it in and squirt it again her check to swallow, she spits it out. we go to the doctors Thursday so I plan to ask them about it, but for now has anyone ever mixed daily medication into the bottle or mixed with their pureed food? the medication says to take with a meal, I'm just having no luck giving it to her. and I'm worried because we increase the dose on Thursday, she wont even take what she has now, never mind giving her more ☹
