Recently confirmed PCOS, and put on Metformin
Hi everyone! So I am new to the group. I will start from the beginning. I have been in couple with my DH since 2005, we are high school sweethearts and married since Dec 2013. In 06/2010 after and HSG I was diagnosed with both tubes blocked. In 05/2012 I had a Laparoscopy to unblock both tubes and it was a SUCCESS, the dye finally went thru my tubes, yay! 07/2013 2nd HSG as a 1 year follow up, and Tubes are perfect, no longer blocked. But since then I never got a BFP. I have to say that i have irregular cycles, they can go from 28 days to 35 days, but I have never missed a period in a year and I do ovulate, maybe not each month though. In 2014 DH and me, we Relocated to Africa, precisely in Cameroon, west/central Africa depending on how you look at the map of AFRICA, lol. So in 09/2017 I went to see a new obgyn, she didn't tell me much except that I had a good uterus and great ovaries, she failed to tell me verbally that I had PCOS, but did put it in my medical record. She gave me a list of test to do so that i can start AIC or IVF. But I since I really didn't like her service I never returned to see her. So fastforward in May 2018, I went to see a new OBGYN a with whom I went through all my medical records, from 2010 until 2017. He looked at the Ultraspund that I did in 09/17, and did a new ultrasound to confirm that I do have PCOS. So I am super new to this. and the Obgyn decided to put me on Metformin 500mg for 1 month taking 1 tablet perday, I need to watch my diet and to workout as well😭😭😭. But let me tell you I am 5'09 and 175lbs. So I wanted to know who has been on metformin with PCOS, and did it work for you? Baby Dust to You all ladies.
