Working on dropping that fasting number!

Nicole

I was diagnosed with GD at 25 weeks, and last week I met with the dietician and diabetes nurse to get set up to track. I’ve been checking my glucose levels for about 5 days now. My fasting level in the morning is the only one giving me fits, which the doctor warned me would probably be the hardest to control. It started at 125, so I adjusted my evening snack by increasing the protein, then it dropped to 115. After reading some suggestions on another post, I tweaked my snack again, and today’s number was 99. My doctor wants it at 95 or less. Another suggestion was to add in a walk after dinner, so I did that tonight. While my 2 hour levels have been below 120 as required, I did notice that my 2 hour level tonight was at 84 when it is normally around 100. Perhaps the walk paired with the same snack I had last night will drop my fasting level into the appropriate range. I mean only 4 points to go, right? I am determined.
