Leather work in pregnancy?

I have an office outing where the team event is to make something from leather. I have never done that and have no knowledge of leather fumes etc. is it safe or should i totally avoid it?

If the leather is already tanned, you’ll be fine. I doubt your office activity will be tanning leather - that’s pretty nasty business! If for some reason there are smelly fumes, step outside.

Agree with previous poster. Tanning leather is also a process so I doubt you’d be doing that. Leather work really doesn’t release fumes. We’re big rustic/country people. There’s a bit of leather in our home along with leather scented things. You should be fine. I’d ask your supervisor what exactly you’ll be doing. You probably encounter more fumes on a daily basis from every day things than you will from the leather/activity.
