Baby shower for second child?!?

Or comment and tell me what you did/who did you invite? Did you plan it or did someone plan for you? Was it a success or did people complain about it?

I’ve heard it’s a sprinkle if you have children that are close in age but you can do another baby shower when there is a significant age difference.

I have a  2 year old daughter and I'm pregnant with my son who is due in June.  I didn't want a shower but everyone else in my family does. I just dont see the point in having someone planning and spending money on a party I dont need or want.  I dont want all the attention on me I hate it.  I have everything I need. I use cloth diapers so I have no need for diapers. I have a crib which my daughter never slept in.  I'm going to breastfeed/pump like I did last time.  I've been getting hand me downs and I bought plenty of gender neutral stuff with my daughter.  The only thing I bought was a new car seat and a blue whale mattress cover.

my sister is planning mine. my baby #1 is a boy #2 is a girl...only thing that makes me not feel bad about it...different dad and my two kids are 9 years apart.

I second the "too many haters". I am 17 wks with baby 4 and We are having a baby shower just like we did with all our kids. You will need things for the baby diapers, wipes, bottles ect...Of course if you have the same gender you might still have some things but you will always need more. I wrote a list of things we needed so our guest knew what to get us!!

my sister is planning my baby shower for baby 2 which also is boy number 2 with in 2 years. but I am not asking for gifts just want to hang out with family and friends and celebrate baby. my sister refuses to call it a sprinkle lol

my son is 2 years old, and before I got pregnant with this one we got rid of alot of his baby stuff even though I told his daddy we shouldn't but we just didn't have the room. I wanted to do another baby shower just for some help but hubby said no and that we'd have what we needed by the time I would have this one and so far looks good just need a baby tub. and my MIL wants to throw a welcome home baby party so we get to at least still calibrate the baby. but if you need stuff is go for it.

I wouldn’t plan it. I also would only have a sprinkle with close friends if they are the same gender and close together. If it’s opposite genders or far apart, you can invite more. People will get you gifts regardless of whether or not you have a sprinkle or shower though. You’ll be surprised. We aren’t finding out gender and they’ll be right at 2 years apart, so we’re just going to have a sip and see after baby is born. That way people don’t feel the need to bring a gift, but can if they want. I’d rather have them join my meal train than anything else. Haha

if you want to, do it. everyone has an opinion about everything these days. some will judge you for it but at the same time people will ask when your shower is, what you need/want, where you're registered etc. those who have an issue with it can just choose not to come
