Almost had her in the car!! Born 5/17 due 5/25

I love this app and this group so I wanted to share my labor story and the days leading up. I was paying much more attention to my body this time around. I was so miserable the last couple weeks and just felt like she was going to come early. Sunday I cooked all morning with my mom prepping freezer meals. I noticed halfway through the day and then at night that it looked like I had lost some mucus plug, but it wasn’t super obvious just a lot of increased mucus-y discharge, no blood. Monday I felt totally exhausted. Tuesday I felt even worse and had moderate period cramps all day. They never had a pattern, but with cramping and a headache and going poo all day long I was getting seriously annoyed. My husband cooked me dinner and I tried to go to bed. Tossed and turned so woke up Wednesday feeling even worse. I was SO irritable. I wanted to kill everything in my path!! 😂 I slept in the afternoon and felt a bit better by the evening. We took a short walk up and down some hills that night and then I decided I would attempt sex to see if it would make baby girl come. And boy, did it work. Within 30 minutes I started having contractions, around 11:15pm. They weren't bad, just stronger and a little more painful than Braxton Hicks. Tried to ignore them but around 12:30am I decided to take a bath. I figured they would just go away in the bath tub because they didn't feel bad enough to be the start of labor, from how my son’s labor went. And they were like 8-12 minutes apart anywhere from 30-1:45. Bath made me feel better but they were still there two hours later. Still not terrible so I decided to try to sleep. As soon as I laid back down I was like oh no I don't think this is going to work so I decided to call my doctor and get her advice. Within the 30 minutes of waiting for her to call back I was like oh shit this is labor and woke my husband up. Then called my mom, who lives in another state! Tried to get my best friend, but it was 3:40am so she didn’t answer. We had to take my 22 month old with us. We got my son in the car at 3:50ish. Got to the hospital about 4:12am. Water broke in the car and I started involuntarily pushing. She was crowning as they put me in a wheelchair and she was born at 4:20am!! No time for epidural. It was awful without the epidural, but over fast. The worst part was being terrified I'd have her in the car and then the few pushes to get her out felt like death. But the recovery has been much easier without the epidural and all the IV fluids! And she is healthy and beautiful. Welcome, baby Ansley!
