Can seatbelt hurt baby?

I’m 18 weeks and today in the car my boyfriend slammed very hard on the breaks and the seatbelt hit my stomach. I’m having some cramping now. I think the baby might have been sticking up at the time. could this have hurt the baby?

if you are wearing it properly, it won't hurt the baby. it's meant to be worn under your belly

Your baby is very protected and padded in there. It's unlikely the baby is hurt but t never hurts to call your OB, they can ease your worry.
