Convertible Carseats???

I really want a convertible car seat so that we don't grow out of the infant car seat quickly and have to buy another one. I'm having trouble finding travel systems that include them though. Do you guys know of any travel systems that have convertible car seats OR what stroller do you recommend if you bought the car seat separately?

Convertible car seats aren’t meant to leave the car. Honesty my son is 16 months and still can use an infant car seat. He’s still 8lbs under the max weight. So if you need a travel system get one, you may end up being able to use the infant car seat longer than you think.

My LO was born in winter but I considered just buying a convertable car seat and baby wearing but I ended up buying a travel system for the sole reason that I live in Canada and winters are freezing and that would have been a lot of in and out for a newborn in the cold. If I was due in summer or spring I would have done that though.

They aren’t a travel system but I’d look at the Chicco NextFit, Graco Extend2Fit, Graco Contender, and the Britax Essentials line ❤️. Then find a stroller you love!

Convertible car seats aren't supposed to come out of the car. That's why you can't find travel systems. They don't exist lol our daughter's convertible seat is the Graco Extend2Fit and we absolutely love it. We switched her to it at 4 months old because she outgrew her infant seat. Prior to that we had a super basic Graco travel system which I hated. I totally wish we had gone with the convertible seat right from day one. We also now use a jogging stroller by Baby Trend.

I bought the Chicco Key Fit 2 carseat. It's a standard infant seat that has a 2 base positions. One is for 0-9ish months and the other is for 9ish-24months. Baby's can stay rear facing in it until they're 2. It's expensive, but worth it. I'd check those out!

So my son was a BIG baby (10lb and 21 inches at birth).  He didn’t outgrow his infant seat but rather I wasn’t going to be carrying him around in it everywhere LOL.
 
I bought the Graco 4Ever convertible which he loves, and I use the Graco Modes stroller.  By reclining the seat and putting the footrest up, it was a bassinet - which was great when he was little.

I got a maxicosi convertible carseat.  Get the convertible I think infant is mostly is you drive everywhere you go in N.Y. I needed one as we left the hospital, then I only used handful of times and by 5 months we wouldn't fit comfortable my baby was 8 pounds and 54cm I don't remember in inches.  But I was lucky on not spending money on car seat my friend has one from her daughter and that's the one I used when we went out of the hospital and until 5 months, I want to give back as soon as he came home from the hospital because my convertible car seat was from 9 pounds up which after one week he was 9 1/2 pounds even doctor was surprise, but my friend told me to keep if I want to because she is not having anymore babies.  So if you close to someone or have nephews or nieces you can ask to have the car seat for the first month after that you can use the convertible.  Depends mostly if you drive all the time me only used the car seat when we were going to do appointments.  Other than that I used baby carrier until 4 months and them umbrella stroller uppa baby g lux that was more confortable than maclaren and others umbrella stroller.  I love the cushion that offers for a young baby that just learned how to seat.

convertible car seats dont come in travel systems.  thats because travel systems are so you can put the infant seat on the stroller and travel easy. convertible car seats stay in the car.        do your research and buy a car seat that will grow with your child. I regret not doing that and instead I've bought 3 seats in 4 years, this last one will last my son till he outgrows the seat.
