2.5mg not working, starting 5mg on cd14. Anyone else ever done this?

Took 2.5mg letrozole cd5-9, my dominant follicles were 9mm and 11mm on cd10, went back today at cd14 and they haven’t grown at all since then. My RE wants to up my dose to 5mg starting today for five days and go back on Friday (cd19) for a third ultrasound. Has anyone else ever had to do this? It’s so disappointing!

I did 2.5 mg (4/28-5/2) . Went in cycle day 21 (Friday) for progesterone blood work doc said I have not ovulated. Starting 5mg today for 5 days. Then have to go back for blood work 14 days after finishing my last pill  hopefully this works. Baby dust to us all.

What does cd mean?

Yes. I started out small, no large follicles.. bumped me immediately to 7 not too much larger. Now I’m on 12.5 and got my scan this morning and it’s looking promising finally with one at 15 Get another u/s on Friday and will be inseminated on Sunday. Good luck to you!

I take 7.5 mcgs on days 3-7 (3 pills/day). I am on my fourth round of letrozole. My OB/GYN has not asked me to come in for blood work though..

Keep us updated! I am just starting my 2nd round of 2.5, days 5-9. I did not ovulate the first round. Fingers crossed for you!

No.  I have not heard of increasing the dose during the cycle.  I would think you use the trigger shot

I did this exact treatment, 2.5mg didn’t raise my estriol levels high enough, so they put me on 5mg straight away for another 5 days. Ended up ovulating on 5mg. 5mg is my lucky number. Once you find your level it’s game on 😉 I’m on monitored Letrozole cycles (blood tests and scans), on my second cycle now dpo3.

Yes and if 5 doesn’t work the way doc wants, they’ll up it again to 7.5. It’s all good, just means body needs more TLC!
