feeling down.

My 6 week old son has been using a nipple shield since we were in the hospital. My nipples are small and I have DDD's and it was hard for him to get on there lol. Anyway, we've been practicing nursing without it now that he's older and he's doing really well! today was the first day I only had to use the shield once! but today he also started nursing and then would stop and SCREAM and cry until he was turning all red, but he was still rooting around for my nipple. He latchednback on and immediately did it again. I figured maybe he was full so I swadled him and started to rock him but he still acts like he wants to suck. eventually he quieted down and is currently sleeping. it made me cry because usually nursing calms him down but these couple times he's almost inconsolable and it makes me feel so inadequate as a mommy. is this maybe just part of the 6 week growth spurt / fussiness? I guess i just need reassurance that this will pass. 😭
