Makena shot?

So my dr said I’d star taking the Makena shot to keep from going into early labor again. But just found out the copay is outrageous for me & im not able to pay it so can I refuse the shot?? (Only reason I went into early labor is bc I had sex at 35 weeks) lol!

I told them last with my second pregnancy, because my first was born at 33 weeks. they don't know the reason just spontaneous preterm. So I took them with my second pregnancy but still went into preterm labor at 32 weeks. I am pregnant with my third decided to take them again hopefully they work this time since I am no longer working and I was working full time with my second. I just have to be more careful and not walk to much.

ask your doctor to have progesterone in oil from a compounding pharmacy.  it is much less expensive than Makena, works exactly the same without the huge price tag

Yes you can refuse. I decided to. I did my research and made my decision. I went to labor 36w and 5 days. The increase risk in having a stillborn, while dismal, didn't seem worth it. I was barely preterm.

yes you can refuse it. ask about progesterone suppositories instead. you insert them into your vagina every day.

I wish I did my research first with Makena shots 😭😱I started taking this crazy shots on my arms at 16 weeks up to 34 weeks and my baby boy died and heartbeat stopped 💔💙😱😭 I feel like they killed my baby last February 2020 because of me and my boyfriend childish fighting and we were not committed to each other and didn’t value our baby boy
