sunscreen?

how often do you guys put sunscreen on your babies? I put it on my son if we're gonna be outside for a while but if we're just playing outside for like half an hour or going on a walk, I don't. Do you put it on your kids everyday?

when it's hot enough deffinitly! Sun exposure this young is terrible for their skin. would rather lather them up in Sun screen then risk skin cancer later on in life...plus Sun burns hurt! I don't want her in pain

I have not yet put any sun screen on my daughter. we play outside in the back yard, but its always shady. we have not gone to the beach eat, because she still puts everything in her mouth,  including sand.
we went to Disney once, but our stroller has a big covered dome and she didnt need any sun screen.
I've heard and seen too many disasters,  from name brands babu sun screen.. babies getting 3rd degree burns everywhere,  etc.
I'm gonna avoid sun screen unless we literally must be in the direct sun for hours, something that never happens,  because Florida sun is a killer and 10 minutes outside, will make any adult sweat their ass off. definitely not safe for kids, especially from noon to 4 pm. 
we go to parks that are either covered or have plenty of shade from trees

I do the same as you. I do try to put him in a hat though even for the shorter periods of outdoor time, but I don’t mess with sunscreen unless we’ll be out for more than 30 min or so

When we go to the beach or pool lol we live in ga on the coast so she’s literally always outside. Can’t afford to put sunscreen on her every time she’s out playing 😂🤗 hasn’t had a sunburn yet and she’s pretty fair skinned

As a skin cancer nurse I know the consequences of sun damage and their skin is super delicate at this age.  For interest We are in the U.K. I put spf 50 uva and uvb cream on before we go out and regularly ie 1-2 hrs or if I think it’s wiped off or she went in water I reapply. Nursery also put it on all the children. Apparently the first 5yrs of life’s sun exposure maps out their future skin problems. So important and to continue to do so as an adult. 90%+ of skin cancers are preventable.

She is pretty good about wearing a hat outside but if we will be out in the sun for more than 40 mins I put it on. We do a lotion on her face and a spray for beach days. I am careful to always do a spot test of new sunscreen- a little bit on her inner wrist the day we take it home so I can watch for a reaction before we actually use it. I do the same test for any new soap or lotion etc.

I live by the beach so we are outside constantly. Trying to get my son in from the garden is a nightmare! So I constantly have him covered in sun cream! 
If the weathers cloudy he doesn’t tend to need it but it’s so sunny atm I am always covering him! 
I tend to put it on when we get dressed so about half hour before we got out and then reapply every hour or so. Even if we are just in the garden he has suncream and an umbrella for shade.
I’ve beach tents are ace too!

My daughter loves the water and being outside. I slather on some tear free spf 50 if we are going to be outside for an hour or more and always a hat so her scalp doesn’t burn. No sunburns yet. She took her first beach trip at 7 months old.

i only do sunscreen if we are swimming or spending the day outside. its about 90 daily where i live now so we dont go out for more than 10 to 20 minutes before pregnant mommy is too hot and has to go inside. lol he does have a baseball cap he wears though to help protwct his head and face.
